Frequently   Asked   Questions

Is your henna all natural or does it contain PPD/Dyes?

At Hennaz Art, we use 100% pure henna paste made from our all natural Sojenna Henna Powder. It contains no PPD/Dyes and is very safe to put on one's body.

Is getting henna the same as getting a tattoo, does it hurt?

Not at all. Henna is made into a paste and is applied on your skin through a cone to give the design fine lines.

How long before my event should I get my henna done?

To get the best results, meaning the darkest stain. It is recommended to get your henna two to three days prior to your event. Natural henna has to run its course to sink deep in your skin and oxidize. Your stain will gradually get darker and reach its peak point after 48 hours.

When will my henna application dry?

Depending on the intricacy and length of the design, the henna will take anywhere from 10 minutes to 30 minutes to dry. A small or medium tattoo dries in 10-15 minutes.

How long should I keep the henna paste on me?

For as long as you can but for your comfort at least keep it on for 6 to 8 hours. The longer the henna stays on the skin, the darker the stain will be.

How should I remove the paste?

Massage coconut oil or Shea butter to remove your henna. It will not only help to scrape the henna off but also protect the design from water if you end up using water on the area. You can use a butter knife to scrape off your henna too.

How long will the stain last on me?

On average, our henna stain lasts anywhere from a week to 2 weeks. The design gradually fades and then disappears completely. However, your design can last up to 3 weeks to a month on areas like the back, arms, and feet. Also, the more you will wash the area the early the stain will fade.
